Dear Friends of Museum London,

It goes without saying that the Covid-19 pandemic has reshaped our lives, how we connect with the outside world, and how we experience Museum London. Our physical encounter with the Museum is no longer a reality, so now our experience has shifted to a remote and virtual one - #MuseumFromHome. During this time Museum London has taken precautions and is offering its services in a way that is safe for everyone.

The Board of Directors and Executive Director, Brian Meehan, are working closely in responding to financial and programmatic realities that have impacted this organization. Each day brings a new challenge and what feels like, at times, a completely new direction. Because of these precarious times there are some items for you to be aware of:

· The Museum London AGM has been postponed until May 27 and the business portion of the AGM will be conducted by the Board on that date. A social event to celebrate the Museum’s 2019 accomplishments will be held at a date later this year;

· Our UPwithART fundraising event has been reimagined. The event will be a free, online event and silent auction and will run from May 24 to May 30 (go online at UPwithART.ca for further details); and

· Scheduled exhibitions, educational programming, and camps are cancelled through June but there are still many ways to stay engaged if you visit the #MuseumLdn From Home website.

It is uncertain when our doors will be open again to the public but what is certain is that Museum staff are navigating this crisis with stability and good judgement. Our thanks goes out to Brian and his staff for remaining committed to serving Museum London and our community, and maintaining consistent communication with our various stakeholders.

A number of people have asked me what they could do for Museum London at this time and here are some of my thoughts:

· Continue to support Museum London by giving online;

· Visit our website regularly for updates;

· Register for UPwithART starting May 12; and

· Continue to stay tuned!

I hope you, your families, and your pets remain safe and well. It will be a glorious occasion when we will all be able to come together, within the Museum’s walls, and the #MuseumFromHome will be a thing of the past.

Best regards,
Deb Majer Fraser
Chair, Board of Directors
